A morning commute took an unexpected turn for a Pittsburgh transit passenger when he disclosed to the bus driver that he had been the victim of a stabbing. According to a Pittsburgh Public Safety blotter, the incident came to light shortly after 7:30 a.m. when the unidentified male, described as in his 20s, alerted the driver and asked for police and EMS to meet them at the intersection of Bunkerhill Street and St. Clair St.
The response was swift. Police officers arrived at the scene to find the young man with a stab wound to his heel. He said the stabbing occurred somewhere downtown, yet he did not pin down a specific time or location for the assault. His reticence extended to cooperating with the authorities, offering little to speed their inquiry.
Despite the scarcity of information, medical personnel moved the victim to the hospital, where he was reportedly in stable condition.
The authorities are asking for witnesses or individuals with knowledge of the incident to come forward in hopes of determining what transpired in those downtown streets before dawn.
