
The South Side Entertainment Patrol has been busy over the last two weeks. According to a recent press release from the Pittsburgh Public Safety Department, the patrol officers focused on maintaining order in one of the city’s lively entertainment districts, issued multiple citations, and made several arrests from September 4 to 15, as reported.
Amidst their various interventions, officers conducted ten traffic stops, resulting in six and three parking citations. Beyond traffic-related offenses, the figures show that patrol officers issued 29 non-traffic citations for a variety of disruptions, including fighting, possessing small amounts of marijuana, and public drunkenness, the press release details.
In addition to the citations, seven arrests were made during these two weeks. Furthermore, officers recovered three firearms, marking a significant effort to reduce potential violence on the streets. These statistics paint a picture of the ongoing tensions and disturbances that arise in bustling nightlife areas, spotlighting the work of local law enforcement in mitigating such issues.
