Early this morning in San Antonio's southeast side, a homeowner shot a man suspected of attempting to burgle his home. KSAT reports that San Antonio Police were called to the 2300 block of Hicks Avenue around 5 a.m. after reports of an ongoing burglary. Upon arrival, they were informed by the homeowner that he had fired on the suspect.
The suspect initially eluded police at the scene, only to be found later with gunshot wounds in a detached garage in the 1400 block of Vanderbilt Street, as detailed by KENS 5. After receiving a call from a injured man in the garage, he was taken into custody and transported to the hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening.
Both KENS 5 and KSAT confirm that this is an active and ongoing investigation. The full circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, setting the stage for further updates as more details become available.
