In a rather unusual theft in Santa Rosa, three goats were reported stolen from their residence on the 600 block of Bellevue Avenue last Tuesday. The incident was broadcast over the Sonoma Sheriff's Office Facebook page, where the office detailed the event and provided a snapshot of the alleged suspect, along with the three furry victims from surveillance footage.
According to the Sonoma Sheriff's Office, the three goats, named Nacho, Chili, and Atlas, vary significantly in size and breed, each carrying its unique presence. Nacho is described as a "very large La Mancha wether goat" tipping the scales at approximately 200 pounds. Chili, a Kiko goat, weighs about 50 pounds, and Atlas, identified as a Kinder wether goat, weighs around 110 pounds. The search for the suspect is ongoing, as detectives and the Rural Crimes Task Force, which investigates agricultural crimes, have yet to identify the thief or locate the missing livestock.
Anyone with information that could lead to the apprehension of the suspect or the whereabouts of the missing goats is encouraged to reach out. Detective Williams of the Sonoma Sheriff's Office is the point of contact and can be reached at 707-565-1312.
