A student from St. Joseph's University remains in critical condition following a car accident that occurred near the Hawk Hill campus on City Avenue, according to a FOX29 report. The incident took place on Monday night around 8:30 p.m., and the involved student's identity has not been disclosed.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene near the 5400 block of City Avenue after the crash, where the university later confirmed via an alert that a member of their student body was injured, as 6ABC stated, the driver stayed at the scene after the accident, the vehicle in question had noticeable damage on its windshield; police are investigating the circumstances leading up to the event, but no charges have been reported at this time.
"I write tonight with upsetting news about the accident on City Avenue," Ross Radish, JD, Vice President of Student Life and Dean of Students, wrote in a statement obtained by FOX29. The university has reached out to offer support and counseling to the affected student and their family, as noted by an email from the vice president circulated within the campus community.
