A St. Petersburg Police officer, identified as John Antoine, has been charged with aggravated assault following an incident involving his domestic partner. the altercation occurred on August 30 outside of the woman’s Pinellas Park home, where Antoine allegedly uttered threatening comments while donned in full uniform and carrying his weapon, according to ABC Action News,
The case was handed over to the Pinellas Park Police Department after the mother of Antoine’s children reported the confrontation to her employer. Antoine, who was sworn in as a St. Petersburg police officer on October 2, 2017, has been placed on administrative leave following the arrest, with his weapons seized, as per the report obtained by FOX 13 News.
Further details were provided by WTSP, noting that Antoine's arrest took place around 8 p.m. on Friday. In a news release from the St. Petersburg Police Department, it was clarified that the officer is now facing a charge for one count of aggravated assault.
