The city of Austin can expect to bask in the heat under mainly sunny skies, with temperatures peaking in the upper 90s, as confirmed by National Weather Service forecasts. A calm wind will shift to the south during the afternoon hours.
In the evenings, the skies will maintain their clarity, enabling temperatures to slightly drop. "Tonight Mostly clear, with a low around 75," indicates the same forecast. This weather pattern shows that high pressure is lodged firmly over Austin, caught between two low-pressure systems, leading to these persistently high temperatures.
Expectations for the latter half of the week remain consistent, with the city experiencing sunny days and clear nights. Temperatures will hover just below the century mark, dipping to the mid-90s by Sunday as the high-pressure system begins to shift, KXAN reports.
However, come Sunday, a potential cold front from the north and west could bring a minor reprieve in the heat, though chances of rain remain marginal at best. "A storm system to our north and west could push a cold front our way on Sunday, but as of now, rain chances remain slim (10%) as confidence is low," KXAN adds. In addition, weather specialists are keeping an eye on the Caribbean, where a low-pressure system could organize into a more significant tropical entity by the following week.
