On the evening of Sunday, an armed robbery suspect was apprehended by officers in Jamaica Plain, Boston following a quick response to a distress call. According to a report by Boston Police Department, at around 9:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to 156 Boylston St. after receiving reports of an incident near Stony Brook Train Station. The victim, after exiting the station around 8:50 p.m., was confronted by an individual who demanded his belongings while indicating that he was armed.

The victim, having been threatened as he walked on Boylston St., shared that he noticed the suspect who followed him, walking on the opposite side of the road. After reaching the vicinity of 156 Boylston St., the suspect crossed over and robbed him of his cellphone, wallet, headphones, and a golden ring. Following the robbery, the victim was able to seek assistance from a bystander to call the authorities and report the crime.

Using technology to their advantage, the victim allowed officers to use a GPS app to track the location of his stolen phone and headphones. This led the police to Dixwell St. and Columbus Ave., where they carried out a detailed search. There, they identified an individual, later confirmed to be 33-year-old Adrian Thomas, who matched the description of the suspect.

Thomas, found lingering near 7-9 Dixwell St., was detained by officers, who discovered the victim's belongings discarded nearby after an extensive search. In the front pocket where he had previously indicated the presence of a firearm, there was now only emptiness. Following a thorough investigation, Thomas was arrested, and all of the victim's stolen property was recovered nearby.

Adrian Thomas is facing charges of Armed Robbery and is expected to make his arraignment in Roxbury District Court, as per the Boston Police Department.
