
The Norman community reel from a recent act of violence that unfolded on Twisted Oak Drive, where authorities responded to a shooting that left one individual fatally wounded, as reported by the Norman Police Department (NPD). The event occurred in the 1800 block of Twisted Oak Drive, and the suspect, who had initially remained at large causing heightened concern among residents, has been apprehended as of 3:01 p.m. yesterday afternoon, with the NPD assuring that there is no longer a threat to the community.
According to FOX25, the person of interest has been identified as 31-year-old Timothy Daniel Moseley who was located on East Lindsey Street and has been booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on charges of first-degree murder and possession of a firearm after a felony conviction, the NPD disclosed that the victim was a 52-year-old man who later died in a local hospital.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting calls came flooding in to the police around 12:40 p.m. detailing an incident at an apartment complex close to Imhoff Road and 24th Avenue Southeast, subsequent to arrival at the scene authorities discovered a victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds as relayed by KOCO 5.
The officers quickly acquired a suspect description and began a thorough canvassing of the area, reports The Norman Transcript, stressing the importance of public vigilance while emphasizing that an active threat was no longer present.
During the investigation, nearby Reagan and Kennedy Elementary Schools were placed in a "secured perimeter" status, an action taken to safeguard students from outside threats, these measures were relaxed after the situation was contained and students have since departed for the day, communicated by Norman Public Schools officials to KOCO 5.
