A Tecumseh man, Bradley Frye, has been placed under arrest following what law enforcement officials have determined was the murder of his wife, Sara Frye, and subsequent attempt to stage the scene as a suicide. According to a report by KFOR, police arrived at the couple’s home on September 13 to discover a 12-gauge shotgun and a broken kitchen table, elements that suggested a narrative contradicted by the physical evidence at the scene. "When the officers arrived, the scene looked like everything other than a suicide," Tecumseh Police Chief JR Kidney stated in a statement obtained by KFOR.

The KOCO report chronicles how Bradley’s account of the events initially involved him claiming he discovered his wife postmortem, but his narrative shifted when officers notified him they would conduct a gunshot residue test. Throughout the police interview process, inconsistencies emerged as Bradley's story changed multiple times, indicative of a struggle that had taken place in the home.

Bradley Frye was found attempting to perform CPR on his wife, Sara, who had been shot in the face. "Whenever we arrived, the suspect was attempting to perform CPR,” Kidney told News9. Sara Frye’s wound was reported as filled with petroleum jelly, which further aroused suspicion. Sara Frye died 30 minutes later despite Bradley's dramatic pleas to the first responders, caught on police body-worn cameras.

Further exacerbating the case, investigators have uncovered a journal belonging to Sara indicating her intent to leave her husband due to his poor treatment of her. Neighbors corroborated the account, telling authorities they frequently heard the couple engaging in heated exchanges, including on the day of the shooting. Prior to the incident, the grandchildren were removed from the home by Sara's father, who had cited concerns for their safety and the couple's alleged substance use issues. "Some things were going on in the home they didn’t feel the children needed to be there," Kidney told News9. Following this tragic domestic disturbance, Bradley Frye has been charged with first-degree murder.
