
A teenage boy has died, and another two adolescents have been injured following a shooting in central Phoenix over the weekend. Before midnight on Friday, the Phoenix Police Department was alerted to three juveniles who had been shot and needed urgent medical assistance. AZFamily reported that all three were quickly transported to a hospital.
Details on the incident remain sparse, however, officials confirmed the shooting occurred near 13th Street and Van Buren. Police responded to the former Phoenix Memorial Hospital near 7th Avenue and Buckeye Road, where they discovered the wounded parties. The three individuals consisted of two teenage boys and one teenage girl, with injuries that ranged from serious to non-life-threatening, per ABC15. Unfortunately, one of the teen boys succumbed to life-threatening injuries while the other teen boy and girl survived with lesser wounds.
The identity of the deceased teen has yet to be disclosed to the public.
The Phoenix community is seeking answers, and authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to provide tips through Silent Witness at 480(WITNESS) or 480(TESTIGO).
