Three people were rescued from a fire in Chelsea, Massachusetts, on a quiet Sunday morning, after flames engulfed a residential complex. According to NBC Boston, the fire, which started in a unit on the second floor shortly after 7:30 a.m., forced residents into a frightening escape.

In an interview obtained by NBC Boston, Oscar Argueta, a resident of the building, described the fire, "It looked like hell in my living room," he said. Adding, "I could’ve been dead. I was scared." Argueta, his roommate and his girlfriend managed to flee the premises, however, he expressed concern for the seven cats they left behind. Meanwhile, above the blaze on the third floor, firefighters executed a dramatic rescue.

Chelsea Fire Chief John Quatieri outlined the rescue operation, saying, "They were unable to get to that interior stairway, so they went to that window and that’s where the firefighters from tower 1 were able to get their aerial to the third floor window, and pull them into the bucket of the tower ladder," as reported by NBC Boston. The three rescued adults were subsequently taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation, with no other injuries reported.

Another perspective of the event was shared by WHDH 7News, which showed video footage of the incident on Congress Street. The fire's origin remains under investigation, leaving unanswered questions lingering like the smoke in the aftermath of the fire. Additional details on the fire have not been forthcoming in the immediate wake of the blaze.
