Two 15-year-old males have been arrested in Dorchester, both charged with a string of serious offenses, including firearm possession and kidnapping. According to a report by the Boston Police Department, the arrests followed an incident where officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) were alerted that a juvenile male had been kidnapped at gunpoint after a disagreement over a scooter. The incident occurred yesterday at approximately 5:15 PM.
The police swiftly responded to two separate calls, the first leading them to 54 Armandine Street and the second, thirty minutes later, to 180 Westview Street, where they were searching for individuals with firearms based on descriptions and information provided by Boston Police Operations. One male was apprehended after attempting to flee upon the officers' arrival, while the second was located shortly after near 70 Ames Street. During the pursuit, officers recovered two firearms—a 9mm Smith & Wesson with a laser flashlight attachment and a Polymer 80—both loaded with ammunition.
As a result of these findings, the teenagers face multiple charges. These include unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition, a large capacity feeding device, assault by means of a dangerous weapon, masked armed robbery, and kidnapping. The names of the juveniles have not been released due to their age. Each weapon was found discarded close to where the suspects were apprehended, with one firearm holding one round in the chamber and fourteen in the magazine, while the other contained sixteen rounds in the magazine.
Both juveniles have been placed under arrest and are expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court. The case brings to light the troubling involvement of youth in violent crimes, raising questions about firearm accessibility among minors and the factors leading up to such grave circumstances for these young individuals. The Boston Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the kidnapping report and the events that preceded the arrest of the two juveniles.
