Two 19-year-old men were critically injured early Sunday morning in a shooting incident near a south St. Louis gas station. According to First Alert 4, the violence unfolded on the 2600 block of Chouteau Avenue when a dark-colored SUV approached a group of people outside of a parked party bus and opened fire.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police arrived at the scene around 12:45 a.m. They found one victim on the ground next to the bus and another inside the bus. Both were taken to local hospitals, where they are in stable but critical condition. This means they are not out of danger but are not in immediate danger of dying, FOX2Now reported.

The shooting incident was confined to the Quik Trip parking lot at the Chouteau and Jefferson avenues intersection, according to a well-known area in the Gate District. St. Louis Police Department's X account confirmed the shooting occurred around 12:50 a.m., with officers responding to emergency calls at the scene.

The police are currently searching for the assailants and have urged the public to come forward with any information related to the shooting; anyone with information can contact the SLMPD’s Central Patrol Division or remain anonymous by reaching out to CrimeStoppers for a possibility of a cash reward.
