
Grand Rapids Police Department is searching for a suspect following an early Saturday shooting that injured two individuals. The incident occurred near the intersection of South Division Avenue and Rose Street, with officers responding to the scene shortly before 2 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered a female victim with a gunshot wound to her back in a parking lot, as reported by WOODTV. A News 8 crew observed numerous evidence markers on the street where police were investigating the incident.
Meanwhile, further details revealed by FOX 17 include an adult male victim who later sought treatment at a hospital for a gunshot wound to the hip. After hearing gunshots, police found now the woman, who later underwent surgery and is expected to survive along with the male victim, who had also undergone surgery. No descriptions of the suspect have been released at this time.
The location of the shooting, near the Metro Bar, was active as police canvassed the area looking for evidence and potential witnesses, as noted by WZZM 13. The relationship between the two victims is uncertain, and it's unclear whether they were directly associated with the nearby establishment or just happened to be in proximity when the incident transpired.
