As West Tennessee undertakes construction projects, drivers should brace for temporary lane closures from September 11-18. According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation, travelers will face possible day or nighttime delays as crews work on repairs and new installations across 21 counties in the region. Noteworthy projects include the resurfacing of I-40 that extends from S.R. 69 to the Humphreys County line, where nighttime lane closures will be expected throughout the construction period.

Benton County's SR 391 will resurface from US 70W to US 70E, an intervention that necessitates temporary lane closures. Carroll County's SR-76 improvements include grading, drainage, and paving aspects, which, while trying to minimize disruptions, will inevitably lead to lane closures. The closures, which are a consequence of Dyer County's infrastructure enhancements, particularly on bridges over the North Fork Forked Deer River, are expected throughout the project.

In addition to the roadworks above, Meadowbrook Lane will close starting September 16, with a detour provided for the thoroughfare's usual traffic. Simultaneous repairs further burden Dyer County, including the resurfacing of I-155 from the Mississippi River Bridge to the rest area and bridge expansion joint repairs.

Gibson and Carroll counties join the list with their own set of projects on SR-76 (US-79), where grading, drainage, construction of a concrete box bridge, noise wall, and paving work are underway. The construction has resulted in the permanent closure of Barker Road at its cross with the new SR 76. However, a detour conveniently reroutes via Church St. In the meantime, N. Jax Road now dead-ends before connecting to the new construction, while S. Jax Road remains accessible through Oasis Rd.

Elsewhere in Henry and Weakley counties, the resurfacing of SR-22, from the Carroll County Line to SR 217, introduces additional temporary lane closures. To round out the disruptions, Obion County's resurfacing work on SR22 from SR5 to SR21, which encompasses bridge joint repairs, will likewise impede the usual flow of traffic.
