Following an extensive month-long investigation by the Oxnard Police Department's Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), a major operation has resulted in multiple arrests connected to a residence on the 2900 block of Paula Circle, suspected of operating as a drug house. This residential area, part of District 4, has become the focal point of an intensified effort to eradicate the bane of narcotics from the community.

According to a news release from the Oxnard Police Department, the DEU, in collaboration with various units, executed several search warrants leading to arrests tied to narcotics and firearm offenses. Notably, in the 2900 block of Paula Circle, 14 adults faced the gavel for an array of narcotic-related charges, and or, outstanding warrants. "As the investigation progressed, DEU detectives identified a residence located in the 2900 block of Paula Circle which was maintaining and allowing the selling and use of controlled substances in and around the residence," the news release states.

The same residence was under scrutiny due to over 30 calls for service over the past two years, pointing to narcotic activity and bouts with fentanyl overdoses—one incident concluded with a fatality. Armed with sufficient evidence, detectives obtained a search warrant under California Health and Safety Code section 11366. During the operation, suspect substances believed to be fentanyl and methamphetamine, prepped for distribution, were seized along with items indicative of illegal drug use.

The collaborative force behind the successful warrant execution on October 24, comprised DEU detectives, Ventura County Sheriff’s Office – Special Crimes Unit, Oxnard Police Department’s Neighborhood Policing Team, and the Oxnard Police Department’s Patrol Division. "This operation could not have been done without the assistance of the Oxnard Police Department’s Police Service Officers and Traffic Service Assistants," the statement from the department emphasized.

Further inspection of the residence necessitated the intervention of city officials from the Code Compliance and Animal Safety departments, and Adult Protective Services were alerted to the situation. Oxnard's City Attorney’s Office is now involved to assure cessation of the illegal activities at the specified location.
