Shoppers, some of whom had to be evacuated, were surprised by the violence, according to Christopher Rivera, a Mayfair Mall worker, who told CBS 58, "It's kind of surprising being in this part of like Wauwatosa like it's not common."
The wounded participant was promptly taken to a hospital and is now in stable condition, with the knife involved recovered at the scene. Josiah, a shopper who preferred not to disclose his surname, described to CBS 58 a scene of disarray, with blood on the floor blocking his route to his parked car. Corrina White, who witnessed the police's prompt response, stated that she felt safe despite the incident, telling CBS 58, "I feel safe with the police right here and my car's right here."
