With the recall election looming, District Attorney Pamela Price stands firm against her critics, asserting her commitment to her role and the community she serves. "I was elected. I'm doing the job. I'm committed to doing the job. I'm a volunteer not a victim and I stepped up because I love this community," Price professed at a recent anti-recall rally, CBS News reported.

The recall effort, which began less than 10 months after Price took office, is accused by some of being propelled by vested interests. At a rally in Oakland, Price pointed out, "We see people with a political agenda exploiting people's pain, weaponizing people's grievances and hardships they've suffered, and using the people that've been impacted by the criminal justice system," according to CBS News. In defense of Price, Yoana Tchoukleva from the Alameda County Democratic Party criticized the campaign's funding sources, "DA Price has not broken the law," Tchoukleva stated, "And to try and remove her through millions of dollars to skew public opinion is simply undemocratic," as captured by ABC7 News.

Despite this support, Price's progressive criminal justice approach has drawn considerable opposition, including from some high-profile politicians. Rep. Eric Swalwell expressed concerns, asserting, "District Attorney Pamela Price has failed the victims of violent crime, and their families. Public safety is the paramount concern of Alameda County residents. Yet, under Price, the cops catch the criminals, and Price puts them back into our community to re-offend," as mentioned in an ABC7 News article.
