
In a recent incident in Ann Arbor, two teenagers were taken into custody after a 3D-printed gun was discovered in their vehicle during a traffic stop. Conducted by night shift officers, the stop occurred in the 600 block of North Maple Road and led to the uncovering of a firearm lacking a serial number, as reported by CBS News Detroit.
An 18-year-old was behind the wheel and a 19-year-old accompanied as a passenger when the Ann Arbor Police Department unearthed the weapon. Following the discovery, the Washtenaw County Prosecutor's Office charged both individuals with carrying a concealed weapon, a serious offense that could result in a five-year felony conviction, as per FOX 2 Detroit.
Moreover, according to reports by WWJ Newsradio, the police action occurred near Dexter Avenue, close to the University of Michigan campus. The Ann Arbor Police Department's commendation of the officers for their action hints at a proactive stance in addressing community safety, “Great work by our officers getting this ILLEGAL firearm off the street,” their department expressed.
