Arlington, Texas, is gearing up for an exciting Veterans Day celebration on November 11 with the inaugural Texas Veterans Day Parade. In the city's Entertainment District, the event promises a patriotic display of gratitude for those who have served in the military. Kicking off at 3:30 p.m. with a musical performance, the highlight will come around 4 p.m. when a Bell Helicopter flies over, capturing the crowd's attention just before the parade begins. The parade will proceed from the intersection of Randol Mill Road and Ballpark Way, according to the City of Arlington.
One of the key elements of the parade is its route, which will pass by the future site of the National Medal of Honor Museum, set to open in March 2025. Major General Patrick Henry Brady, a Vietnam War Medal of Honor recipient, will lead the parade as grand marshal, adding an extra layer of significance to the proceedings. Arlington Mayor Jim Ross remarked that this parade reflects the city’s strong respect for veterans and military personnel, aligning with the community's values.
As the evening unfolds, attendees will witness a spectacular drone show by Sky Element at 6 p.m. near Globe Life Field, followed by a military induction ceremony. The celebration will then continue with live music at Texas Live! starting at 7 p.m. Barry Corbin, an actor from shows like "Yellowstone" and "Tulsa King," will serve as the master of ceremonies.
The parade is expected to feature around 100 participants, including military vehicle groups, school bands, ROTC units, and local military personnel. Organizers are encouraging community involvement and inviting people to support the event through the parade’s official website.
