
Nearly a year after a fatal shooting on Benning Road in Northeast DC, the Metropolitan Police Department has announced an arrest. The homicide took place on December 2, 2023, when police found 38-year-old Michael Hansley, who had no fixed address, suffering from a gunshot wound. He later died at a local hospital, as per the Metropolitan Police Department release.
After a thorough investigation, DC Superior Court issued an arrest warrant, and the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 39-year-old Juan Adams on Tuesday. A resident of Northwest DC, Adams has been charged with second-degree murder while armed. The Metropolitan Police Department announced the arrest in a press release, marking the end of efforts to address the violent crime that claimed a man's life nearly a year ago.
