
The city of Austin braces for a week dotted with rain chances, offering residents an umbrella-worthy array of showers and thunderstorms, with no single day expected to plunge into a full washout. As forecasted by the National Weather Service, today sees a 30 percent chance of showers, primarily ceasing before the early afternoon, and though the skies are to clear somewhat, temperatures are predicted to hover near the 86-degree mark.

According to KXAN, Wednesday is set to echo today's wet start with light rain possible through lunchtime while drier conditions are anticipated as the day matures. The partly sunny weather nudging the thermometer closer to 90 degrees, beyond that the week's rain chances rise particularly on Thursday morning when a cold front-promised line of showers and thunderstorms makes its southeastern trek across Central Texas—and while the ensuing cooler clime isn't expected to stretch into the area, the front's wet heralds are.
The showers and thunderstorms continue to thread through the forecast for late Thursday, Halloween night, with a scant probability of precipitation likely sparing trick-or-treaters from a deluge, as per KXAN. Going into Friday, the chance of showers and thunderstorms lingers, culminating in a weekend that may very well be generously punctuated by rainfall.
Saturday stands out with a 50 percent chance of rain, with forecasts suggesting it could be the drench-heaviest of the days ahead, while intermittent showers and potential thunderstorms persist through to the start of next week, by the conclusion of which most parts of Central Texas might have accumulated a moderate sum of rain, between half an inch and an inch and a half, "There will be some higher exceptions, but most of us should end up within that range," a narrative mirrored by both weather services, and as Austin's residents navigate this scattered tapestry of rain and respite, they’re advised to "Stay with the First Warning Weather Team as we fine tune the timing of each individual round of rain," as stated by KXAN.
