Bryce Schubert, the man charged with the murder of Beaverton nurse Melissa Jubane, has been evicted from his apartment following the grave allegations against him. Schubert, 27, who resided in the same apartment complex as Jubane, now faces severe charges, including first-degree murder, kidnapping, and abuse of a corpse. The landlord took an immediate decision to remove Schubert and his roommate from the Baseline 158 apartment complex in early October, giving them just 24 hours to vacate the premises. This eviction was reported by KOIN, grounding their claims on court documents filed by attorneys representing the apartment complex.
The story unfolded when Melissa Jubane, a newly married nurse, was reported missing on Sept. 4 after failing to arrive at her job at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. On Sept. 6, Beaverton police arrested Schubert, alleging his involvement in Jubane's disappearance and subsequent death. Court documents further revealed that Schubert had, allegedly, kidnapped Jubane with the intent to quickly and seriously harm her, details obtained by KGW. The same documents also accused Schubert of being "deliberately cruel to [the] victim" and indicated that he used a weapon during the crime.
The case has triggered a strong reaction from the community and the apartment complex management, with the landlord expressing a determined stance against Schubert's possible return. As communicated in a new court filing, the landlord does not want Schubert back on the property under any circumstances, which was reported by OregonLive. This action reflects not only a measure of security but also signifies a moral judgment, representing a larger community's stand against the atrocities Schubert stands accused of.
