The Brooklyn Park Economic Development Authority is on the lookout for visionary developers ready to breathe new life into multiple sites, including the previous park and ride at 4201 95th Ave N and its neighboring Oxbow Commons plots. In a move focused on reinventing these locales, proposals that bring fresh and creative strategies to the table are not just welcome; they're highly sought after.
With the aim of fostering inclusive growth, the EDA is making a point to encourage submissions not just from the big players: The invitation extends emphatically to small businesses, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC)-owned firms, women, and veteran entrepreneurs. This push for diversity reflects a broader commitment to ensuring the redevelopment activities contribute authentically to the community fabric, and not just the skyline.
For those interested in contributing their concrete visions to the area, an informational webinar is on the agenda. Scheduled for 3:30 PM on November 4, Dylan Armstead of the Brooklyn Park EDA is the point of contact for developers looking to get the lay of the land ahead of their submissions. Prospective developers can sign up by emailing [email protected], as outlined in City of Brooklyn Park announcement.
For the proposals to get wheels, they must make their way to the EDA by November 18. A selection panel has the task of combing over each according to criteria set in the Request for Qualifications (RFQ). Their evaluations will form the foundation for recommendations to the EDA, setting the stage for the next chapter in Brooklyn Park's development story.
