Broomfield police have taken three individuals into custody following a shooting incident that transpired on a Friday afternoon, near the crossroads of the Northwest Parkway and Highway 36, as reported by KDVR. The swift response from law enforcement came after reports of gunshots at approximately 3:30 p.m., occurring in the vicinity of the Flatirons Mall, upon arrival, officers discovered one adult male slightly injured by a bullet that had merely grazed him, and his vehicle showed signs of being hit 'several times' by gunfire, yet he required no further medical treatment beyond the care provided on the scene.
Among those arrested were "twenty-one-year-old Rodolfo Piedra, and two juveniles," whose attempted escape after the shooting episode resulted in a vehicular accident, curtailing their flight and resulting in their capture with cooperative efforts from surrounding law enforcement agencies, as stated by KKTV, these arrests included a subsequent chase that ensued when officers located and attempted to pull over the suspect's vehicle which then, instead of yielding, raced away leading to the crash.
