
The City of Carrollton has recently been recognized with the 2024 Annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement® (AEP) Award, as detailed in an announcement by the National Procurement Institute, Inc. (NPI). As a signal of the city's adherence to stellar purchasing practices, Carrollton stands out as one of 20 first-time recipients of this acclaimed award, reinforcing its dedication to procuring innovation and excellence.
According to information released by the City of Carrollton, this program is known for championing the development of procurement excellence, and it urges organizations to continue to elevate their operational standards year by year. This year, Carrollton's purchasing department, by providing evidence that documented the city’s support of robust standards, and showing compliance with best practices, submitted an application that amassed 140 out of a possible 200 points, effectively surpassing the 100-point threshold necessary for the award.
The award highlights Carrollton's assurance to its residents for engaging in principled procurement principles, and Everett highlighted the award's importance, saying, as per the City of Carrollton, "The award represents a commitment to Carrollton residents for sound procurement principles." Award recipients, including Carrollton, will be recognized in the upcoming week at the NPI’s annual conference on Tuesday, October 15.
