Meanwhile, night-time lows will consistently hover in the 40s.
An advisory is in place for the coming days as "the coldest air of the season so far is expected to settle over the western Carolinas during the middle of the week," according to the NWS. This change may result in areas of frost on Wednesday night and early Thursday, especially east of the mountains.
