
The takedown of a major vehicle theft operation in Oakland brought a rare victory for Bay Area's car owners. On October 17th, the California Highway Patrol's (CHP) dedicated NoFEAR team, in collaboration with the Alameda County Regional Auto Theft Task Force (ACRATT), swept through a suspect property, unleashing a wave of legal reckoning. According to CHP's social media post, this well-coordinated operation yielded the recovery of no less than 20 stolen vehicles. Among these were two VIN-swapped cars shaking the trust fundamentals in the chassis of used vehicle markets.
While the team rummaged through the property's depths, they encountered stolen vehicles and other spoils of the illegal trade. A dump truck stuffed with stolen car parts, three commercial vehicles, and a pair of unregistered firearms rounded out the trove of unlawful treasures.
The CHP has issued a public reminder to stay vigilant.
