The City of Cincinnati is grappling with the consequences of a drive-by shooting that left two teenagers in critical condition. Cincinnati Police Department responded to the incident in Kennedy Heights yesterday afternoon, around 4:52 p.m., after receiving reports of shots fired and subjects chasing a male. Located in the 3800 block of Kirkup Avenue and a block away on Odin Avenue, the victims, a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old male, were swiftly transported to local hospitals for emergency care, according to a The Enquirer report.
Meanwhile, Law Enforcement officials have intensified their search efforts to locate four suspects linked to the shooting. Authorities have indicated that the suspects may have been driving a white Chevy Spark with visible heavy front-end damage. "The 16-year-old was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with life-threatening injuries in critical condition," said Cincinnati Police Captain Dennis Swingley, who added that the second victim, found on Odin Avenue, was in stable, albeit critical, condition. FOX19 obtained this statement.
As the community reels from the violence, eyewitnesses and individuals with knowledge of the incident are urged to come forward with any information they might have. Captain Swingley reiterated the call for community assistance, emphasizing, "We have obtained a possible license plate number" to expedite the suspects' capture. This detail was shared in a statement retrieved by WCPO.
