A Clark County School District employee was arrested on Thursday, for allegations of unlawful contact with a minor, according to the Clark County School Police Department. The employee, identified as 24-year-old Andres Mendoza, was taken into custody and booked into the Clark County Detention Center, as FOX5 Vegas reports.
Details surrounding the incident remain scarce, but authorities have confirmed that the arrest was linked to a high school-related investigation that began last Tuesday. As per News3LV's coverage, Mendoza was employed as a campus security monitor at Jim Bridger Middle School, a position he has held since March 2019. It was not immediately clear to what extent the district was aware of Mendoza's conduct prior to the arrest.
The Clark County School District acted swiftly, placing Mendoza on unpaid leave to comply with the negotiated agreement with the bargaining unit. This personnel action is a standard practice in such cases, ensuring a separation from the school environment while investigations continue. KTNV shared this detail from a statement issued by the Clark County School District.
