A Clarksburg teenager is facing serious charges following his connection to two separate shooting incidents in Germantown this year. Jaiden Ochieng, 16, was initially charged with attempted first-degree murder for a March shooting. He's now implicated in an August shooting, with additional charges laid against him.
Details from the Montgomery County Department of Police reveal that on August 8, a shooting occurred on the 19600 block of Crystal Rock Drive. Reports claim a blue Honda Civic, allegedly stolen from Clarksburg, was central to the incident. Ochieng, who was in the vehicle, reportedly stepped out and fired at a victim seated on a park bench. The victim fortunately escaped unharmed.
At his September 6 arrest on Copper Ridge Road, Ochieng allegedly discarded a handgun, which was later matched through ballistic analysis to the August shooting. The same handgun had been misplaced in Prince George's County. The new charges against Ochieng include attempted first-degree murder and motor vehicle theft, alongside various other firearms-related offenses.
Ochieng is currently held without bond at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit and is facing charges as an adult.
