An investigation is underway in Adams County following a double shooting that occurred Saturday night in Rotella Park, resulting in one juvenile male dead and an adult male wounded. According to Denver7, the incident took place around 11:18 p.m. at 1824 Coronado Parkway S. Deputies responding to 911 calls found the young male deceased and the man suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.
The identity of the juvenile victim has yet to be released following the violent event that has shaken a normally peaceful community. "I hate the fact that it happened here, but you never know where it’s going to happen next," neighbor Ron Foster said, as per FOX31. Foster, who frequents the park five days a week, added, "For the most part, it’s a very nice park. I love coming over here, I walk here five days a week."
The Adams County Sheriff's Office is actively interviewing witnesses and family members to piece together the unfolding of the tragic incident.
