
A tragic incident occurred in Chandler on Saturday evening, where a 2-year-old boy was found submerged in a backyard pool. According to ABC15, Chandler firefighters responded to the home near Cooper and Ocotillo roads around 7:40 p.m. The boy was transported to the hospital in extremely critical condition and later succumbed to his injuries.
The absence of a safety barrier was noted, with fire officials confirming that the pool did not have a fence. AZFamily reported it is unknown how long the boy was in the water or if anyone was around at the time of the incident.
Chandler Police have deemed the drowning to be accidental.
