A recent shooting in Southeast has prompted an investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department. The incident occurred on the afternoon of Saturday, at around 3:37 p.m. on the 1200 block of Alabama Avenue, as per the Metropolitan Police Department.
Responding to reports of gunfire, Metropolitan Police Department's Seventh District officers discovered a young adult male, later identified as 24-year-old Joevontae Ramsey from Southeast DC, he was found unconscious and not breathing with gunshot wounds. After being transported to a local hospital by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services, Ramsey succumbed to his injuries. Officials are offering a substantial reward for information leading to the apprehension and conviction of those responsible.
