A high-speed chase in Oklahoma City concluded early Tuesday morning resulting in two arrests and one person hospitalized. News9 reports that the incident began when Oklahoma City Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop near Northeast 50th Street and North Lincoln Boulevard. The driver, instead of complying, prompted a chase on southbound Interstate 44.
The pursuit escalated as Oklahoma Highway Patrol intervened, using tactical vehicle intervention to halt the fleeing car. According to KOCO 5, three individuals were in the vehicle; the driver attempted to escape on foot into the woods but was apprehended, while an other passenger hit his head when trying to jump from the moving vehicle and was later not arrested. The third member was taken into custody without further incident.
KFOR adds that the chase started around 1 a.m. after a vehicle was pulled over for a traffic violation but suddenly sped away, reaching speeds up to 100 mph. Multiple attempts were made to stop the car before the successful tactical maneuver near SW 59th St. and I-44.
The aftermath of the pursuit left one individual requiring medical attention. "Two people have been taken into custody and another has been taken to a hospital following a pursuit Tuesday morning," the police informed to KFOR. Details on the chase and the identities of those involved have been withheld as the investigation is ongoing.
