Authorities are stepping up their efforts to bring a suspect into custody following a fatal shooting on Shepherd Street in Northwest, DC. The Metropolitan Police Department has requested assistance from the public in locating the individual wanted in connection with the homicide that claimed the life of 32-year-old Jeremy Dewayne Johnson.
On February night around 2:41 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunshots on the block, according to a statement from the DC Police Department. Upon arrival, they found the victim with fatal gunshot wounds, already pronounced dead on the pavement.
Orlando Anderson, identified as a 31-year-old of no fixed address, is the suspect named in a DC Superior Court arrest warrant for Second Degree Murder while Armed. In the pursuit of justice, the police are urging anyone with information on Anderson's whereabouts to come forward. In a bid to encourage eyewitnesses to break their silence, the Department is offering a reward up to $25,000 for details that may lead to arrest and conviction.
However, the authorities warn the public not to attempt apprehending the suspect themselves, who may be dangerous, instead, they recommend calling the police at (202) 727-9099 or sending a tip via the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.
