Hey, Dearborn residents and Halloween enthusiasts! Your city is going full Jack-o'-lantern this October with a slew of Halloween and fall festivities suitable for the whole family. There's something for everyone, from haunted trails to brews and boos, and you won't want to miss out on the spook-tacular fun.
Ready to thoroughly get into the Halloween spirit? Camp Dearborn is kicking things off with Halloween Weekends every weekend in October. Families can enjoy the crisp autumn air at 1700 General Motors Road, complete with campfire stories—just add s'mores and a ghost story or two to taste. But let's not stray too far from the pack because there are more treats (than tricks) waiting around the corner.
In an announcement shared by the city's official website, the DHM Fall Into Dearborn: Brews and Boos Fest is scheduled for Oct. 11 at the Commandant's Quarters. Adults can sip on festive libations and enjoy an evening of ghoulish fun from 6 p.m. until the witching hour strikes at 11 p.m. Not to be outdone, the Dearborn Firefighters Burn Drive Pumpkin Patch offers family-friendly excitement on Oct. 19 and 20 at Fire Station 2, promising everyone's favorite orange gourds and more.
For those looking to shake their bones, the Spooky Dance Party at Henry Ford Centennial Library is the place to be on Oct. 16. Kids can groove to Halloween tunes from 10:30 a.m. till the clock strikes 11:30 a.m.. And let's not forget wanna to dress warmly for the Dearborn Ice Skating Center Halloween Skate on Oct. 20, an event that combines the chill of the rink with the thrill of the holiday from 2:30 p.m. to 3:50 p.m..
Of course, no Halloween would be complete without some good ol' fashioned trick or treating. Downtown Dearborn has got you covered with its Trick or Treating event held on Oct. 26 across both the East and the West DDA, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.. But wait, there’s more—the Motor City Brass Band Horns & Howls concert will treat your ears with spooky sounds on Oct. 27 at 3 p.m. at the Michael A. Guido Theater.
As for wrapping up the month, the Halloween Scavenger Hunt on Oct. 28 and the Halloween Extravaganza on Oct. 29 both at the Esper Branch Library look to enchant with engaging activities and perhaps a few friendly spirits, inviting families to search and celebrate from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., respectively.
These events are but a slice of the pumpkin pie of activities throughout Dearborn this October. So, grab your costumes, mark your calendars, and head over to the city's social media pages @Dearborngov for updates. It's time to spook, frolic, and roll in the autumn leaves with your loved ones, all courtesy of the spirited city of Dearborn.
