Denton, Texas turns the page to October with a spectral spectacle, brandishing its festive spirit, the city unveils its NTX Ghostbusters Headquarters with an 11 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Discover Denton Visitor Center, located at 111 W. Hickory St. Today marks the inaugural celebration of Denton's innovative, month-long "31 Days of Halloween" festivity, which meshes community involvement with tourist attraction.
The event, staged in a city revered for its unique charm, charges ahead with a tour of the downtown area, decorated for the season and ready for interactive engagement. Later, from 6 to 8 p.m., the Denton Civic Center, at 321 E. McKinney St., will host the Blocktober Party and Pumpkin Drop, an evening fiesta marking day one of the Halloween bonanza.
"Denton is a community that is truly North of Ordinary, so when staff came together to think of innovative ways to bring residents and visitors together, boost economic impacts, and drive tourism to our city – Halloween stuck out as a unique avenue to accomplish these goals," according to a statement on the City of Denton's official website.
