
A tragic head-on collision in Durham claimed the lives of a woman and a child on Saturday night. The Durham Police Department is investigating the incident that occurred on Page Road near Holloman Road at approximately 8:37 p.m., according to ABC11. Authorities responded to the crash involving a black 2015 Infiniti QX60 and a blue 2008 Chevy Cobalt.
Officials reported that 56-year-old Rodney Brower, the driver of the Infiniti, was heading north on Page Road before the collision with the Chevy, driven by 35-year-old Sherri Walker of Durham. Following the crash, Brower was treated for what police described as minor injuries. Sadly, Walker, along with one of the child passengers in her vehicle, were pronounced dead after being taken to a local hospital. The WRAL News is seeking more information on what led up to the crash and whether charges will be filed.
Walker’s Chevy Cobalt was carrying three additional passengers—two other children under the age of five and another adult—who were also injured in the accident. These passengers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, per info provided by The News & Observer.
