City officials have announced significant street closures throughout the day, as all lanes of HWY 71 from HWY 183 to Woodward Street will be sealed off for the motorcade. The shutdown extends to HWY-183 between HWY 71 and Burleson Road, so plan ahead. If you’re one of the many Austinites who rely on IH-35 for your daily grind, breathe easy – that vital artery will remain open.

For folks relying on public transit, it's not all doom and gloom. Some routes may be adjusted to keep you moving around the city, despite the presidential gridlock. However, if you usually park along the routes expecting closures, you'll need to hunt down a new spot – these streets are a no-go for parking during Trump's visit.

The city is urging everyone inside route to plan their travels with a buffer for delays. And for those headed to Austin-Bergstrom International, heed the airport's plea: leave early and carve out an alternative route to avoid any last-minute dashes to the departure gates. With roadblocks anticipated, the airport is advising all "passengers and employees who need to be at the airport in the afternoon to plan accordingly for alternative routes and give themselves sufficient time to arrive," as per the official statement.
