A routine traffic stop in Fairfield turned into a major drug and weapons bust last Wednesday afternoon. Around 4:15 p.m., Officer Kennedy of the Fairfield Police pulled over a driver for reckless driving on East Tabor Avenue. The situation quickly escalated when the officer uncovered a large amount of drugs and illegal firearms.

According to a Facebook post of the Fairfield Police Department, Officer Kennedy found probable cause to search the vehicle. The driver, 29-year-old Enrico Sharp, was removed from the car, and a loaded firearm was discovered in his waistband during a pat-down.

Fairfield law enforcement arrested Enrico Sharp after a search of his vehicle revealed a cache of illegal substances and ammunition. Officers found Xanax bars, cocaine, marijuana, and fentanyl pills, a dangerous opioid. Additionally, Sharp had cash, a scale, and shotgun ammunition, further escalating the seriousness of the charges.

Sharp was taken into custody and now faces multiple drug and weapons-related offenses.
