According to a report from ClickOrlando, the commission has found "probable cause" to slap formal charges on Ashton, who has been accused of exhibiting bias and a volatile temperament during court proceedings.
These allegations are not new for Ashton, whose history in the courtroom includes blustering at attorneys and manifesting contempt or favoritism with facial expressions—an act the JQC explicitly condemned. "Your repeated unwillingness or inability to govern your behavior raises questions about your fitness for judicial office, and the foregoing behavior constitutes inappropriate conduct," the commission stated, as ClickOrlando reports. The commission has aired concerns not solely over Ashton's demeanor but also about his behavior's implication on the objectivity demanded by his position.
