The Fort Worth City Council is set to vote on and finalize a new calendar for its 2025 meetings on Tuesday, Oct. 15. The agenda includes 52 meetings, with 15 dedicated to public comments, as well as various sessions for council work, zoning, and daytime discussions, according to the City of Fort Worth.
This is not just about setting dates. The schedule is carefully planned to align with staff transitions, including the city manager’s retirement at the end of the fiscal year, and to account for holidays and local events. Notably, there will be breaks during Spring Break, the entire month of July, and on Mondays following holidays.
These meetings will directly affect how the city is governed, so residents with opinions on the budget should take note of key dates: April 29, May 13, June 3 and 17, August 5, 19, and 26, and September 9. These eight Budget Workshops will provide opportunities for public input on how city funds should be allocated.
The council is also considering holding both a Work Session and a Zoning Meeting on January 14 and may schedule an additional meeting during the National League of Cities conference in Washington, D.C., on March 11. For those attending daytime meetings, free parking vouchers will be available 30 minutes before the meetings begin, ensuring that parking near the City Council chambers on the second floor is not a concern.
