The mysterious disappearance of 63-year-old Tyrone Krank from Gastonia is concerning. Two weeks after he was reported missing, his home was found unlocked, with his phone, keys, and wallet untouched. Neighbor Patricia Scott noticed the unusual scene, saying, "The door was open, his cell phone was in the house and the TV was on," according to WCNC.
An operative surveillance camera could have been key in tracking his last movements, yet, to the family's dismay, the camera was found to be nonfunctional. Scott expressed her frustration in an interview with WCNC Charlotte, "I'm mad and angry because they got that up there like it works and that would have been the key right there."
Krank, who is known to have cognitive impairments and relies on a cane due to his condition as a stroke survivor, is described by his neighbor Scott as a quiet person who rarely ventures from his home. Thomas, as stated in an interview with the Gaston Gazette, said, "I knew something was wrong because that's not him."
Despite the lack of tangible leads or surveillance footage, the Gastonia Police Department remains engaged in the search, utilizing various techniques and resources, including dogs, to locate Krank. As reported by WSOCTV, investigators have reviewed local doorbells and security cameras, but have yet to determine how or if Krank left his neighborhood. Thomas implores through a public outreach on social media, "Please, please help my brother." The Gastonia Police Department urges anyone with information regarding Tyrone Krank's whereabouts to come forward and contact them at 704-866-6702 or 704-866-3300.
