On Monday night, a routine traffic stop on Route 91 in Greenfield, led to the arrest of a Vermont man on charges including narcotics and firearms offenses. State Police-Shelburne Falls' Trooper Clifford Gervais initiated the stop after observing a Subaru Impreza with an unreadable registration plate. Upon investigation, it was uncovered that the driver, identified as 25-year-old Isaac Hodgdon from Randolph, Vt., was operating a vehicle with lapsed insurance, prompting the call for a tow truck.

During the process of securing the car for the tow, Trooper Gervais conducted an inventory which revealed a stockpile of firearms, for which Hodgdon did not have a license. Further search extended the discovery to illegal drugs, with the Trooper uncovering over 300 grams of substances identified as Cocaine and Fentanyl, a potent synthetic opioid.

With the findings of the search, Hodgdon was promptly arrested and taken into custody at a local barracks. The bail was set at an imposing $25,000. Following this, Hodgdon faced arraignment at Greenfield District Court, where he faced charges for a dozen criminal offenses, which included, among others, involved multiple narcotics and firearms-related offenses, according to a release from Massachusetts State Police.

Details about Hodgdon's plea or any subsequent legal proceedings have not yet been disclosed.
