Hamilton is getting into the holiday spirit with the return of the Holly Jolly Hamilton event, set to turn the city into a festive hub from November 1 through New Year's Day. In a collaboration between the City of Hamilton and the Greater Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, local businesses and neighborhoods are decking the halls for a community-wide celebration.
According to a statement obtained by the City of Hamilton, Mallory Greenham, Chief of Staff, shared her enthusiasm about the event. “Holly Jolly Hamilton brings out the little kid in all of us; it is one of my favorite times of the year. It's also a crucial season to support our small business community, so make sure to shop locally first when you are looking for that perfect gift or gift card,” she said. The festivities begin with the Hamilton Holiday Sneak Preview on November 1, where more than 25 small businesses will stay open late to showcase unique holiday products and gifts.
A new twist this holiday season includes the Pink Friday event on November 22, aimed at supporting local enterprises. This special shopping day encourages residents to shop locally from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., adding a new hue to the standard holiday color palette. Another addition is the Santa Paws Pet Parade, set for December 14 at Marcum Park, where pets can join the holiday fun in a parade sporting their festive outfits.
Free Letters to Santa postcards will be available at participating businesses starting November 1. They can be delivered to Santa's Magic Mailbox in the City Building or Marcum Park a week later, potentially earning senders a reply from old Saint Nick. The celebration is more than just an opportunity for early holiday shopping—it's a communal experience designed to bring joy and support to the heart of Hamilton. Details on the full lineup of Holly Jolly Hamilton events can be found online as the city gears up for a season of cheer.
