Hillsborough County crews have successfully cleared storm debris from the Tampa Shores neighborhood in Town 'N Country just in time for Hurricane Milton. This cleanup followed the destruction caused by Hurricane Helene's severe storm surge, addressing the urgent need to prevent further damage.
Since cleanup operations began on September 28, Hillsborough County has removed over 18,000 cubic yards of debris from curbsides—enough to fill over 9,000 pickup trucks. Additionally, more than 6,300 residents have helped by bringing wreckage to county drop-off sites, adding up to over 6,200 tons of debris cleared, as reported by Hillsborough County.
Crews and debris contractors are on standby with equipment ready across the county after Hurricane Milton. These preparations show a commitment to clean up once it's safe to do so quickly. The county is prepared to address the expected debris and support communities facing another potentially serious storm.
