A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged with failure to render aid in connection with a fatal crash that occurred on the morning of October 23 at 4700 Yellowstone Drive. The suspect, Cedric Gerard Golden, Jr., is accused of leaving the scene after striking a female pedestrian with his black Dodge Challenger.

It was around 6:10 a.m. when the incident took place, not in a crosswalk, the woman was walking in the street, as reported by City of Houston News. The car believed to be driven by Golden was reported to be traveling at a high speed before it fled without stopping to help the victim who was later pronounced dead at the scene by the Houston Fire Department paramedics.

Following the crash at Yellowstone Drive, the same vehicle was involved in another collision at Lockwood Drive and Spur 5. Local patrol officers then detained the driver at that location, who was subsequently identified as Golden. In a statement obtained by City of Houston News, officials confirmed that after a thorough investigation and consultation with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, charges were filed against Golden.

The identity of the deceased is yet to be confirmed, which is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. Sergeant K. Harris and Officer J. Campbell from the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division, who are identified as Golden, are handling the ongoing investigation. The Harris County Jail is the location where Golden has been booked.
