Community members in Dunwoody are invited to join the #GreatDunwoodyCleanup on November 2. This city-wide event aims to involve residents in cleaning up litter and debris to protect local waterways and green spaces. The City of Dunwoody encourages individuals, families, teams, and civic organizations to come together to help preserve the area’s natural beauty.
Now in its fourth year, the cleanup initiative reflects the community's commitment to environmental stewardship. "This is our fourth year for the event, and we’re excited to see it grow," said Dunwoody Stormwater Engineer Cody Dallas. Volunteers can choose any cleanup location in Dunwoody, such as a street, stream, or common area, according to the City of Dunwoody website. Participants can share their involvement in the event online by posting photos with the hashtag #GreatDunwoodyCleanup.
The Dunwoody Nature Center is also contributing by leading a cleanup project, offering an organized option for those who want to join a group. As the event nears, volunteers interested in more group activities can find information and instructions on the City of Dunwoody website, promoting community involvement and interaction.
The #GreatDunwoodyCleanup will take place from sunrise to sunset, regardless of weather, giving volunteers a full day to contribute at their convenience. The city will provide documentation for community service verification upon request, adding to the incentive for participation in this eco-friendly initiative.
